Trend Scouting on Newbury St - Mules

For this project our group was asked to walk up and down Newbury Street in Boston and take a look into some of the stores for new trends this season. This post will go through and explore the trend of mules for the S/S 2019 season. The places we looked into were Chanel, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, and Rag & Bone.

The five stores that we chose to look at on Newbury St. that had carried mules were Chanel, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, and Rag & Bone. Each store carried a different innovation of the mule and we analyzed the trending factors for each style. Each mule chooses is for a target market with a large disposable income, as all of the stores are high-end and expensive. Below are the five mules that we selected and explored.

Our group also looked into defining characteristic, if the shoe is a fad, trend, or fashion, and who the target audience is for these products. After evaluating our findings we placed the images on a diffusion curve to provide a better understanding of where these trends will end up this season as well as the future of the fashion.
